Books similar to The Mist by Stephen King?

I’m looking for something similar in this sense: a group of people becomes trapped somewhere (a town, a store, a cave, a house — any place), and little by little we get to see who these people really are, with all their virtues and flaws.

I’m more interested in science fiction stories, but I’m open to books from any genre that resemble The Mist in the sense I mentioned.

I guess another example from King himself would be Under the Dome.
