    Are there history books where the commentary by the author is kept to a minimum (just enough to understand the context and explain stuff that could be misinterpreted) and then most of the space is given to the primary sources?

    I'm thinking, for example, of a book on the age of discovery that is structured around entries from the logbooks of explorers, as well as an overarching voice that explains what's happening generally
