Hi friends!
I absolutely love fantasy/urban fantasy and Sci-Fi but I feel like all the books I've been reading are probably aimed at young adult. I had asked for recommendations from friends many years ago and was given some great titles but all my friends had read them in middle and high school. As such, they were probably aimed for that audience, and I was 26 when I started really getting into reading/listening (I had a 12hr round trip every few weeks driving, with lots of time on my hands). I'd like to start diving into things meant more for the adult audiences.
Some of my favorite books have been:
– The Nightangel Trilogy (11/10, re-read 3 times.)
– Mercy Thomson series by Patricia Briggs (10/10)
– He Who Fights With Monsters: A literary RPG (9/10)
– Deathstalker Trilogy (10/10, great books. Wish there was more.)
– Alex Verus series (10/10)
– The Kingkiller Chronicle (7/10. Great books overall. No last book for a long time, some perspectives that were clearly written by a teenage guy.)
– I read one Dune book but I am pretty sure it was out of order of the rest, was great though.
– Three vampires and a margherita (like 5/10? It wasn't a bad read, but I didn't continue it and it was very much meant for teens.)
– The 13th Paladin (9/10, fantastic series.)
– The Nevernight Chronicles (8/10. Very much young adult.)
– The Dresden Files (First one was ROUGH to get through. Haven't gotten to the others yet.)
– I am currently on The Gravediggers' Son and the Waif Girl
I would like to read Tolkeins works as well as Oz. Outside of that though, I have no idea where to start.
Please, any recommendations would be MOST appreciated!! Thank you!
