It seems to me that regardless of genre everything being published in the past twenty years is either a doorstop (400+ pages), an oversized short story, or a novella.
I’m not talking about ebooks but actual physical media.
Isn’t anyone putting out decent length (200-300 page) well paced novels for adults (no YA, thanks) that can be read in 3-5 days that tell a narrative without being overinflated?
These books used to be the staple of the industry. Have they gone the way of the Dodo?
Curious what others have to say.

No of course not. Plenty out there.
What turns up if you search on a site for a book store? Or a reading app like Goodreads or StoryGraph?
