I’m looking for a book with a true hero. Destined by fate, chosen by gods, whatever. However I want this hero to have no interest in participating in this equation. I don’t care if he/she/they actually ends up solving the quest in the end, but if they do- I want it to be almost an accident.

For something more serious there’s a middle grade series I enjoyed, Gregor the overlander by Suzanne Collins (the author of hunger games)
Hemlock and Silver by T. Kingfisher has some of this. MC studies poisons and a king forces her into trying to save his daughter. Snow White/Rose Red retelling.
