I’m going to be doing 3 plays, 4 pieces of prose. Here’s a list I’ve made what would you remove, and why. I’m trying to make a decision so that I can at least start with 1 soon.
Plays:
1. Hamlet/ Macbeth/ King Lear
2. Waiting for Godot
3. The Importance of Being Earnest
4. Death of a Salesman/ A Streetcar Named Desire
Prose:
1. Frankenstein
2. As I lay dying
3. Something by Toni Morrison
4. Metamorphosis / Slaughterhouse Five
5. Great gatsby / East of eden / Grapes of Wrath
6. A Grain of Wheat/ something by Marquez

My favorites are the Shakespeare ones and Toni Morrison
I don’t think you have any unworthy candidates there, but there are some real differences between the ones containing multiple titles—The Great Gatsby is the shortest of those three, I’m fairly sure, and there’s a lot of difference in the setting between wealthy Long Island and the Depression-era Midwest.
