not him falling in love with a model or a woman he sees/meets but this man happens upon a painting of a woman that he becomes enamored with to the point of obsession. the man goes mad over the painting of the woman.
i don’t know if there’s a book like this but i would sure love to read one.

Absolutely love this concept. Not far from reality with the obsession of image.
Horror, but Karl Edward Wagner’s short story “In the Pines’ that is in the “In a Lonely Place” anthology. Highly recommended reading.
