So, as a person who is rather well read, i come across alot of people who for whatever reason past or present have been found to be a terrible person or, people with views/ lifestyles that are not accepted in the modern day/ rejected by mainstream media.
So, my question is whether you are able to seperate the book and its content from the author. Or, will your views forever be tainted by what you learnt about the authors views.

Of course.
You’ll get a lot more engagement (edit: and fewer downvotes) if you fix the spelling errors (and remove the NSFW tag, which does not seem to be merited).
There is a slight hypocrisy here but I will choose not to point it out
Yeah, I don’t really care about the individuals who write the books. Not any more than I care about any other stranger.
The only exceptions are authors who helped shape my formative years. And even then, it’s a maybe at most
I cannot generally separate the two. Therefore, I read the book first usually.
If the author is a shitty person, buy their books second hand or get them from the library. As long as you don’t give them money or let their personal views infect your mind, you’re good.
It’s a personal question at the end of the day; I tend to be further towards the “ignore the author as a person” side of the spectrum but there isn’t a right or wrong answer, if someone doesn’t want to read an author because they’re a terrible person that’s a valid decision as well
For authors like that, I try to read the book for free from the library (I do audiobooks, and my library uses the Libby app) – I do my best to not give the author money.
Yes. Easily. I usually know nothing about the authors of the books I’m reading. Not even their name, unless their book is so good I go, “Who wrote this again? I need more books from them.” Knowing nothing is the easiest way to seperate book from author. Of course, even if you do know they’re shit, the book did nothing wrong.
