Hi. I'd like to get my nieces some books (or even graphic novels) that have some empowering or feminist undertones but aren't flat in your face like "the teen guide to feminism", "womens history".
Same for maybe some for body image. But avoiding anything that comes off like self help. I was thinking a romance where the main character is plus size and gets the guy, loves herself etc ….. But no spice lol everything seems to be spice and I would be murdered if I give my 12 year old niece an accidental spice book.
I was looking at because I was a girl (but still might be to on the nose and not enough story). Or maybe something like dealing with dragons. I havent read it myself though.

PS – medium curse words would probably be ok, but maybe not Samuel L Jackson level if that makes sense. Parents are ok with them reading / watching things with some language.
