Having hard to put down books helps me get/stay sober. Some that have fit the bill in the past:
The GoT series
Eastern Approaches
The Volunteer (Fairweather)
My Confession (Chamberlain, rare)
Between Two Fires
Beneath a Scarlet Sky
No Country for old men
Some other favorites that might not be so page turnery:
Freakonomics
Midnight in the Garden…
Currahee
Nine Suitcases
My war gone by…
Balkan Ghosts
Also I just love survival stories, especially if true. As you might have guessed I am a huge history guy especially regarding ww2, the holocaust, ancient history and Eastern European. Thanks for any suggestions!

Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
The Spy and the Traitor: The Greatest Espionage Story of the Cold War by Ben Macintyre – true story that reads like a spy movie – gets harder & harder to put down as it goes on.
Try Dungeon Crawler Carl. There is a lot going on but it is basically a guy trapped in a survival game with magic and a talking cat.
They do have a character that struggles with sobriety though. So trigger warning.
