I just finished The Dive from Clausen’s Pier by Anne Packer on a random whim (the only other time I’d seen it was as a child in the early 2000s on my mom’s bookshelf) and HOLY MOLY, it has a hold on me. I loved the pace, the style and the emotional wreckage that ensued. Please recommend similar books and/or authors – I’m ready to ache!
