I’m just getting into reading classics. I love Jane Austen’s books & Jane Eyre is now one of my favorite books of all time. That being said, I would love to read books written around the same eras that focus on people of a lower class. I’d prefer books written by women, about (mostly) women, but I’ll also take male authors too! I don’t even know if this sort of thing exists. Romance is a plus. Honestly, it doesn’t have to be the same era. Just old books about poor people.
Edit: I am so thrilled with all of these recommendations! I’m adding them all to my TBR! And I hope to come back and update you all as I read them! (My next read is Wuthering Heights, then Middlemarch!) I need to make a separate post for just a more general classic recs because I want to get to know it all!
