I’ve been looking for memoir style books about growing up with a mentally ill mother as I now (in my 30s) am trying to make sense of my own relationship. I’ve had a look round but haven’t really found much so would be very grateful for any recommendations.

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, The mom doesn’t have a formal diagnosis, but she is impulsive and severely neglects the kids consistently.
So do you hate her?
