Hello,
I enjoy reading military memoirs. However, because I live in the UK, almost all the books I have read so far are by US or British soldiers. I am looking for military memoirs written by soldiers who fought against the US, the UK or other Western forces. I am interested in accounts from all conflicts, including the Second World War.
I am especially interested in memoirs written by North Vietnamese Army soldiers or Vietcong fighters, as well as books written by Iraqi soldiers from the Gulf Wars. I am open to accounts from professional standing militaries and also from non state actors.
I know that in some cases memoirs may not exist because of the nature of the conflict or the groups involved. If that is the case, I would also appreciate recommendations for books where the author interviews fighters or soldiers to tell their stories.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
