My mom reads a ton and is a former HS English teacher- she loves novels like cutting for stone, James, the vanishing half, Olga dies dreaming. Sprinkles in lower brow stuff like Dan brown, where the crawdads sing etc. what’s an absorbing novel that isn’t too upsetting does not have rape in it, and isn’t too sexy? Thanks!
