I’m looking for a sci-fi or fantasy book or series where the protagonist isn’t just fighting villains or empire, but the world itself. Something where the true enemy is ancient, colossal, and foundational to the setting. A story where the environment feels hostile, alive, and built by forces so old or advanced that the task of beating seems impossible

Think of the atmosphere in Blame!: a vast, abandoned megastructure built by ancient machines, where the world is more dangerous than any single character. I want that same sense of isolation, insignificance, and struggle against something primal, ancient, and unreasonably massive, or even something closer to Shadow of the Colossus where the enemies are an integral part of the environment
