I have recently been playing a lot of video games that have this in them, Chants of Sennaar, Tunic, The Apothecary of Trubiz, that kind of thing. My mom really likes puzzle books and cryptograms and I think she'd like that kind of experience but she isn't ever going to play a video game, so I thought there might be a physical book out there with similar "gameplay". The ideal book would be one that tells an interesting story once translated but isn't too hard and gives lots of hints to help the reader along the way. The Apothecary of Trubiz is a good example of easy hints, there is a book in the game that has page numbers in the made up language, so translating the numbers is really easy. (Spoiler tag in case anyone wants to go play it)
