I drive a lot for work and listen to non-fiction audiobooks, podcasts etc. but sometimes I just want to sort of switch off and let my brain relax. I guess I'm looking for fiction with a plot that isn't too hard to follow and prose that doesn't need to be interpreted in anyway in my mind. I don't romance but other than that I'm pretty easy. Thanks!

James by Percival Everett was really good and the narrator was great.
If you like horror at all Tales from the Gas Station by Jack Townsend is a fun series. Very funny
The Murderbot Series is real popular. Each book in the series is fairly short and the plot is fairly simple and easy to follow
Honestly, I reach for familiar YA series when I want to turn my brain off. Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, and Percy Jackson have been my go-tos.
