I like the Red Rising series, but I especially like the second half, when Darrow is essentially a warlord and battling through the solar system. While I do like the action, what I really love is the mix of him figuring things out and outsmarting people. He’s an “overpowered” protagonist and generally comes across as very cool, but he’s not an infallible character who makes all the right choices.
Anyway, I find the books are very engaging and I’m looking for something that will keep me similarly rapt.
