Hi everyone!
I’m looking for some book recommendations for my partner. He hasn’t really been a big reader before, but recently told me he’d like to start getting into reading.
So far I’ve looked at The Silent Patient and The Kind Worth Killing, because I think thrillers might keep him hooked — but I’m not entirely sure.
Do you have any suggestions for books that are engaging, easy to get into, and good for someone who’s just starting to read more seriously?
Any genre is fine, but something gripping would probably help!
Thanks in advance!

**The Road** by Cormac McCarthy.
It’s emotionally brutal af but it’s relatively short and easy to read, and when he’s done he can watch the movie.
There’s some pretty thrilling nonfiction out there.
Endurance by Alfred Lansing
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
I always recommend The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for people who want to get into reading books and like thrillers. It’s older, but most readers of fiction have likely read it, so the newer reader can discuss it with many people if they wish to. There is a great movie to watch when you are done reading it, too, always something to look forward to.
I would say almost anything SA Cosby if you want a thriller in particular All the Sinners Bleed, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin if he at all likes video games and or tech development, Project Hail Mary is also a great read and where I started my 35 books in the last 6 months. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke is another short but gripping sci-fi thriller. Kind of depends what his interests are tbh. Anything in particular he likes?
