    Hello everyone!

I'm doing voice training right now and one exercise I am doing is reading out loud, from a book daily, to a friend! The problem is I have a strict criteria for what would work for this.

It needs to have minimal adult content, I live with a child in my home and I don't want them to overhear a sex scene or something.

It preferably needs to be short (as it takes me a long time to read out loud, I only go through 10 pages a day and don't want to be stuck for two months on one 500 page book) ideally less than 200 pages.

Ideally a simple easy to follow plot, as sometimes I misspeak or mispronounce a word and my friend sometimes gets a little lost when listening. Ideally something with simple language, for similar reasons.

No specific genre, ideally fiction with a cute cozy vibe, but I'm open to anything!

We're currently reading Orbital, by Samantha Harvey and it's been mostly perfect so far! However, some of the run on sentences make it hard to follow. Others we have queued up are: the Iron Man and the Iron Woman by Ted Hughes, maybe The House on Mango Street, Alice in Wonderland and some short stories by Edgar Allen Poe.
