Hello. I'm looking for some books because I want to start reading more as a hobby and to improve my literacy, especially when literacy of America lies in its deathbed. With that, does anyone have book suggestions with millenial gothic, dark, melancholic, fantasy/paranormal vibes? Fallen by Lauren Kate piqued my interest just because of its sublime cover, but the reviews of the actual story counter that good quality. Any suggestions?

I haven’t read her personally but I believe Mary Downing Hahn does a lot of gothic fantasy, although I think it may be YA.
