Lately, these are the books I’ve enjoyed the most:
One Hundred Years of Solitude – Gabriel García Márquez
Thérèse Raquin – Émile Zola
Pedro Páramo – Juan Rulfo
Our Share of Night – Mariana Enriquez
I Gave You Eyes and You Looked Toward Darkness – Irene Solà
They share the same dark, moody atmosphere. There’s always a hint of fantasy, lots of family trauma, and elements like death, ghosts, and stories that stretch across generations.
If you’ve read any of these, do you have recommendations for books with a similar vibe?
Thanks!
