I'm looking for any recommendations where the prose and dialogue of Cormac McCarthy meets the character building, adventure, and scope of Lonesome Dove. I know that's pretty specific, but it doesn't have to be a Western. I also loved The Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden by Steinbeck, and those are pretty close to what I'm looking for.
