Best bet would be to try and find a used college text book, like Norton Anthology. Those will usually have a good sampling of all the greats.

I recently picked up Future Tense Fiction: Stories of Tomorrow which has multiple authors. Haven’t started it yet to give a review, but could be worth looking into!

There’s a really great anthology published many years ago called “You’ve Got to Read This.” Authors picked their favorite short story by another author. Not sure about kindle availability, though.
