After finishing reading my last book, I got into a reading slump. I’ve already taken a few days off from reading, but I already miss it. I’m curious about other people’s experiences with this. What book got you out of your reading slump?

In death series by JD Robb. Always gets me out of the slump or rereading harry potter
Sphere by Michael Crichton is my go to novel for getting out of a slump.
The wrong hands – Mark Billingham
Unbury Carol by Josh Malerman. A steampunk gothic western horror re-telling of Sleeping Beauty. It wasn’t super scary, but weird and delightful and funny and kicked me right out of a reading slump.
I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak heloed me out of that situation years ago. It was unputdownable
I’d say an easy thriller books gets me out of my slumps. Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier was SO good if you’re open to that genre.
For me it’s The Silent Patient
The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro
Airframe by Michael Crichton
“Incarnations of Burned Children” by David Foster Wallace.
Not a book, but a 1000-word short story.
It’s more memorable than most books you’ll read. Got me back into reading.
Still, I don’t recommend it.
Those who’ve read this short story know why.
