Hi folks! I'm unfortunately in a bit of a reading slump due to academic burnout, but I LOVE reading and need something to snap me back into it. The last book that had me glued to the pages was Sunrise on the reaping, which was a while ago. We're currently reading the scarlet letter in AP lang, and while it's a great book, my heart isn't really in it and I've kinda been dragging my feet. We're reading Gatsby next semester though (already read and liked, but I def need to reread to absorb more). Anyways, I'm gonna drop a list of some liked books and maybe I can get some recs?

Some fav books: The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, The Jungle, Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men, Little Women, The Illustrated man, farenheit 451, in dubious battle, and pride and prejudice

Some fav authors are John Steinbeck (YES I'm planning on reading east of eden i promise) and Ray Bradbury (already read SWTWC. Gave me a headache.)

    1. Read something fast-paced and entertaining, like Red Rising by Pierce Brown. Some aspects of the first book are often described as ‘The Hunger Games in space’, though it’s a lot more than that, and expands to a fairly epic scope by the second book. A twisty, action-packed, dystopian sci-fi/fantasy revenge story.

Or for something really wild, dark, weird, and occasionally funny, check out The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins. A fast-paced and engaging urban-fantasy/horror novel like nothing else. It’s fairly dark and violent, just a warning, but a lot of fun imo.

For a short, mysterious, beautifully written, compelling little fantasy/magical realism novel, check out Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. A strange world, interesting characters, and a story that will stick with you.
