Or books in which the main character finds out that people do care about them?
I need to feel like someone cares about me today.
Does anyone know of a book that reflects that message, such as by portraying a character as going through a rough time or reaching some breaking point or crisis and realizing that there are people that care about them? I know this is kind of a cheesy trope, but it’s just what I need right now.
Feel free to interpret my request in any way. Both nonfiction and fiction are A-OK.
Similar books I’ve read and enjoyed:
– Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick (and most Matthew Quick books, in general)
– Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
– Meredith, Alone by Claire Alexander
Other mental health-related (suggestions do not have to be about mental health—I’ve just found that books that reference mental health often have the themes I’m looking for when I’m going through such a period) books I’ve read and enjoyed:
– Novels by Emily R. Austin
– Novels by Kathleen Glasgow
– Novels by Helena Fox
– The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog by Bruce D. Perry
Also looking for suggestions for books by diverse authors!

Clean Break by Abby Vegas
Maybe The Wedding People by Alison Espach? Also, Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason might be a good one!
*Something in the woods loves you* by Jarod Anderson
Do the audiobook if you can.
I think The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer might be a good fit.
