Litterature from around the world 🌎

I grew up on French/enflish litterature and I’m looking to expand my horizons.

What country are you from and what is a book from your country you’d recommend I read ?

Novels, poetry, plays, philosophy, history books, folktales.. anything which is meaningful in your country’s history and culture, anything you’d learn about in school or anything you personally love. I’m open to modern authors too although I’m more looking for classics atm !
