For me dad 4 christmas. I am looking for a very interesting thought provoking book. Here are the things he likes:
– Human evolution and general time period where the Neanderthals were out and the animals that were lurking
– Loves plants and trees. Very interested in whatever they have going on
– Interesting facts about anything really one of the books he recommend was this book (idk what the name was if you guys could figure it out too that would be great) but it was like a little bit about everything or something like that? Basically it was about a bit of the beginning of time and then the Industrial Revolution or something and just breaking down a lot of big human events
– History. Really likes history facts like how the carrots became orange to honor this random king
– Maybe a cool science book would interest him
Idk if i worded this right please see my vision and help me

The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenitals
*Kindred: Neanderthal Life, Love, Death and Art* by Rebecca Wragg Sykes is a really good book on Neanderthals. Not boring even though the cover doesn’t look very exciting.
*The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate—Discoveries from A Secret World* by Peter Wohlleben will get your dad extra jazzed about trees.
*Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds & Shape Our Futures* by Merlin Sheldrake for some mushroom knowledge.
*How Carrots Won the Trojan War: Curious (but True) Stories of Common Vegetables* by Rebecca Rupp because you said carrots.
A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Harari
Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies – Diamond
A bit pulpy, a bit cerebral, maybe he’d like:
“Darwin’s Radio” and “Darwin’s Children” by Greg Bear.
They’re science fiction!
