Books Similar to Yakuza Moon but for Other Groups/Cultures/etc.

I love learning about history and culture, but I prefer the story-telling style to do so. I really like the style of Yakuza Moon because it was such an easy read. I want more books told in a style similar to that, but about other groups or cultures. Any recommendations?

The writing doesn’t have to be as causal as in Yakuza Moon.
