I’m not sure it’s *exactly* what you are looking for, and I don’t want to say too much, cause it works best if you go into it knowing as little as possible, but this the best book I’ve read this year.
Just a warning- it is the first part of an unfinished trilogy, but please don’t let that stop you from reading it.
