hello, I am a highschool student who recently discovered he struggles with media literacy and in some cases reading comprehension (that’s when sometimes im tired and I mindlessly read the words on my book). I have been trying to fix this but the books I’ve been reading have been from authors like cormac mcarthy which isnt a good idea given how complex his books can be. so I would like to ask for some book recommendations for books that I can read and use to help practice my media literacy skills on. this is definitely a odd request but I want to do something now about the issue. Im a big fan of sci-fI and dystopias but I wouldn’t mind books more on the childish side as long as they are a decent length.

I’m not really sure how you could practice media literacy on fiction, given that it means being able to analyze mass media stories for accuracy and credibility. But if you’re looking for books to help you do that, try:

      * Becoming a Critical Thinker: A Workbook to Help Students Think Well in an Age of Disinformation by Julie Bogart
      * The Media and Me by Project Censored and the Media Revolution Collective
      * True or False: A CIA Analyst’s Guide to Spotting Fake News by Cindy L. Otis
