In terms of what I’ve read
– the hunger games series
– whatever I was given at school (of mice and men, the kite runner, Charles dickens etc)
I’ve got a few books on my shelf that I never finished including
– the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo
– Annihilation
– Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
– The Trading Game (non fiction)
I’ve created a list of ones I think I’d like mixed with some classics (please tell me if any of these aren’t worth a read), but I’d also love your recommendations! My girlfriend is massively into Russian literature so I’ll likely get onto those once I’ve broken the ice with some simpler reads first. My list below
-Flowers for Algernon
-Lord of the flies
-Never let me go
-Animal farm
-1984
-The handmaids tale
-The beach
-The girl with all the gifts
-We need to talk about Kevin
-To kill a mockingbird
-Sharp objects

*Watership Down*, if it wasn’t one of the ones you were given in school.
Recursion by Blake Crouch
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (and also Circe)
It is my firm belief that “1984” is one of the most important books ever written.
