Haven’t read a book in over a year..

Realized today that I don't think I've read a book in well over a year.. Does anybody have any recommendations for "must read" books that rope you into the narrative rather quickly? I tend to have a short attention span. I am in the market for a wild card, but I'd prefer you keep in mind that I don't particularly enjoy romance or mystery novels.
