My reading score in school is going down quite a bit so my mom has been making me read, except the books she owns are all boring. I like books that will make you cry, feel emotion, rethink life, become attached to characters, and make you just want to kick your feet in the air if you know what I mean. I really liked reading things like the outsiders and the giver in school. But I can’t ever seem to find a not extremely long book that I will stay interested in and love I guess.

John Green can be a bit cringe but also a nice read
The Fault in Our Stars was pretty good.
If you haven’t tried Hunger Games series maybe give it a go.
Maybe some classic goth fiction? Give it a few chapters to get used to the old timey language like Frankenstein, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Checkout the autobiography section of the library, I’ve found random books by people, not just actors, who have intriguing life stories
Try “the five people you meet in heaven” by Mitch Albom
Hmm, how about the ocean at the end of the lane by Neil Gaiman?
Or how about White Oleanders?
Also wanted to pitch the reading that Rory does in the Gilmore Girls https://candidcover.net/rory-gilmore-book-list/
