Hi, I love all things fantasy and magic but have been wanting to lean more into mystery recently. Ive enjoyed some historical mysteries but the more rigid gender roles kind of bum me out and a lot of the stories involve if not focus on them. Outside of that I dont like modern mystery because I dont like real world or modern settings.
Ive read the works of Katherine Addison and Glen Cook but couldnt really find anything else that fit the niche, recemendations?
Bonus points if the main character is nonbinary or a woman. Double bonus points if there is little to no romance or strong platonic relationships.

Melissa Scott & Lisa Barnett’s Astreiant books are mysteries in a high fantasy setting with queer MCs
The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson
Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett is a noir detective parody set in a high fantasy world.
Yes on platonic relationships but Sam Vimes Is a man.
I have not read it yet, but The Tainted Cup is a fantasy detective book with a female detective MC and I’ve heard enough good about it to add to my list!
