I recently took a gamble at getting back into reading after a long dry spell (6 years), and started with Flowers for Algernon. I absolutely adored it.
I'm looking for something in the same vein; grounded in reality with some sort of commentary. Something that makes you think or has something to say. I'm not a big fantasy person, which seems to be the most prevalent genre these days.
Others I enjoyed were The Hunger Games, Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, The Road, and The Great Gatsby.
Not books, but I'm a big fan of The Last of Us, Life is Strange, Bioshock, and Red Dead II, as far as stories in games go. I enjoyed Westworld, The Walking Dead, and Arcane for TV shows.
Anyone got any suggestions? 🙂

if you enjoy the handmaids tale, read the sequel the testaments. i’ve seen it’s quite divisive but i personally loved it. based on other books you enjoy i would think you’d like it to
