i feel like this has been asked many times by many people but im gonna ask anyway.
the bell jar is my favorite book of all time, i have never felt more seen than i do when im reading that book. i love books with an accurate representation of mental health in women, and i need more.
ive read girl interrupted, prozac nation, my year of rest and relaxation, the virgin suicides, valley of the dolls, the yellow wallpaper, mrs. dolloway, and girl in pieces. i am also currently reading plaths journals and letters.
are there more out there?

Committed by Suzanne Scanlon is nonfiction (memoir) but an excellent take on this subject, and also tuned into the body of literature of women’s madness and institutionalization. Highly recommend!
She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb
Hangsaman (Jackson) to me felt very similar to The Bell Jar in some respects.
