Looking for a book to get on my nerves (miscommunication, backstabbing, underdog)

I read pretty much anything and everything and I have come to realize I love books that get on my nerves. I used to LOATHE the miscommunication trope but now I love it. Like I'm looking for a book where the main character to have some big miscommunication that gets them sent away or makes them run away from something very important to them, only to realize they were wrong. I want a book where the character goes years thinking one thing but in actuality it was something else. Fantasy, romance, sci-fi, anything!

A good example of a book that just recently pissed me off is Pillars of the Earth, all the backstabbing and the lack of communication, ugh just wonderful. hahaha
