my mother in law has expressed she has been wanting to get back into reading but has trouble getting into a book and wants one that will really get her interested immediately. i know she doesn’t like fantasy and is pretty conservative so nothing gory or sexual involved. mystery is good or just regular ole fiction! any ideas are so appreciated thank you!

If she’d be interested in comedy-mystery, she might like One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. A little sex, but not much.
