I always used to think reading was extremely boring and that I could never read anything beyond my college textbooks (which I read purely out of fear, not interest). But recently, I decided to give reading a chance and ordered The Alchemist and Ikigai.
Plot twist: I actually enjoyed it.
Now I’ve realized there’s an entire ocean of amazing books out there, and I’ve barely dipped my toes in. So before I randomly buy something and regret it—any suggestions on what I should read next?

Recommending books is one of my great joys. Can you tell me what you are looking for in a book? An image or movie whose vibes you’d like to read about? Or maybe what you definitely DON’T want to read?
*Jurassic park* by Michael Crichton
Try other genres or themes you wouldn’t give a chance before. I’m a guy and I realized I never really read many books written my women growing up and started to read a lot of books written by women in the past few years. Really showed me how much I was missing out.
Some books I liked this year were:
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
The Wedding People by Alison Espach
News of The World by Paulette Jiles
Of course take a look at other posts and comments too. Hope your reading journal grows!

The Alchemist was my first independent book reading too!! Now I have my own home built bookshelf full of books. (Last year I think I ploughed through around 15 books.)
