Hello, I am a big reader and have on more than one occasion been interested in annotating books that I love to re-read or books by my favorite authors and feel as though I am doing it wrong-even though I know there probably is not a wrong way to annotate. So I want to know what you guys do when you annotate.

Do you tab anytime you write something on the page? Do you assign certain things to each color tab? Do you just write and doodle on the page? Etc. Just anything about how you annotate-I am not super happy with the way I've been doing it but I do think I'm enjoying my current read more due to annotating.

So far I have yellow tabs for general comments, pink for cute romantic moments, orange for irritating moments, blue for sad/meloncholy moments, light purple for specific words like rn it's the word Lucky or variations on luck, green is for information. And I've been underlining and writing notes in the margins-mostly my thoughts.

Anything would be appreciated in regards to your personal guidelines. I'm debating getting monochromatic tabs to match the cover of the book down the line instead but idk.
