What was a non-fiction that genuinely shocked you?
Whether its a crime, thriller, memoir, etc. What was a non fiction book that genuinely shocked you by the information it had to say? Like it was so unbelievable
Big fan of Patrick Radden Keefe (Say Nothing and Empire of Pain). Strictly speaking there’s speculation involved, not PURE non-fiction.

*Nixon, Alone in the White House*, by Richard Reeves. Enthralling, captivating, very interesting and enlightening.
Throughout reading this, I couldn’t believe that these are adults behaving like this – the egos, the paranoia, the tantrums.

Bury my heart at wounded knee by Dee Brown. It’s been over 20 years since I read it and I’m still upset by it.

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara genuinely shocked me. The book mentioned a place where I live as a child, and when I looked up where one of his victims lived, I realized it was a house I could see from my bedroom window. I had no idea at the time.
