I really want to read books that are both enjoyable on a story level and presents insightful ideas that will help me understand the world better and explore new perspectives.

I have read The Dispossessed by Ursula K le Guin and Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. I really liked how The Dispossessed explored the idea of a communal, revolutionary society, and how Orwell depicts the "ultimate dystopia". I feel both books, but especially Nineteen Eighty-Four, really changes how I saw the world and made me appreciate the freedoms I enjoy a lot more. I have also read Brave New World by Aldoux Huxley but found the characters uninteresting.

Do you have any other books in this "genre" you would recommend? I have a slight preference for older books, but I am open to newer ones as well!
