I need a full time job and it’s looking like sending out applications online just isn’t enough. I’m looking for a book with specific, actionable steps that will help me make a game plan for how to professionally network into the new year. I want the focus to be specifically about networking for your career (though not necessarily for a specific industry) rather than more general books on charisma and making friends or dating, etc.

As someone who has done a lot of networking over many years – I would say this is not something you can learn from a book. Just show up to as many events, conferences, etc. as possible and make genuine connections with people, without asking anything of them. Build relationships and use LinkedIn to keep in touch. Be yourself, give of yourself, help connect others when you can, and they will be happy to help you 🙂
