This might be too specific for this sub, but I'm hoping for some guidance with my book club selection. It's really long, and I've gotten about 10% into it, and it's doing that thing where the MC is a child who thinks/acts like an adult ALL THE TIME. It's a pet peeve of mine. Should I just try skipping to the middle on the theory that she'll be grown by then and I won't be annoyed? Is there a modern Cliff Notes I could consult? I like my book club, but frankly I have more interesting things to read and I'm beginning to resent this book!

I have no exp w book clubs, but that book sounds like real trash, skip it, maybe get out of that club, if they force you to read stuff you don’t like (and look: if you are in need of some recommendations, eg this place can serve you well, too, in any genre)
