I recently read Mona's Eyes and I really loved it because I could learn about art history while reading each chapter. I'd love to read a novel where you get to discover/learn about something in depth. It can be about any topic. But it has to be central to the plot, if possible.

I like “Demons” or “The possessed” by Dostoevsky. I don’t know if it respects your criteria, but I learned a lot about the sociopolitical conditions of Russia in the late 1860s and it’s inspired by the real-life political murder of a student by Sergey Nechayev’s revolutionary group in 1869. I found it interesting although it was a bit of a heavy read.
If any other book comes to mind, I’ll comment here again!
