Some movie examples of what I'm talking about are Her (2013) or After Yang (2021). Both are pretty contemplative and happen to be set in futuristic worlds but are about normal people in relatively normal circumstances in their worlds. The protagonist of Her is just a middle class guy and After Yang is about a normal family. Both are kind of fundamentally about interpersonal relationships and dealing with loss and heartbreak.
There's no uprising or big bad guy or action. Any books that fall into this category?
