This was asked more than 7y ago so I think it's worth asking again.
The Blade Itself is great but I wish it had more focus on the female characters. Characters I liked:
Glokta: a shrewd, smart, and disabled man with dark humor
Ardee: free-willed who had potential to have a prominent role
Ferro: lil dumb but strong. Like the "acts before thinks" type. Like Ardee, she also had potential which never happened
Any recommendation for books with similar character vibes (grim, morally gray, dark humor) but with more focus on female characters?

Abercrombie wrote a few standalone novels set in the same universe as First Law. *Best Served Cold* and *Red Country* both have more focus on female leads.
